Type: Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program
Focus: To provide an experiential learning environment using pharmacy practitioner role models so the necessary skills, knowledge, and values can be acquired and applied by the resident in the provision of exemplary patient care

Estimated Stipend: $50,000 per annumVacation/Holiday Leave: 2 weeks (10 days), plus 2 wellbeing days

Summary of Rotations:
Residents are expected to complete one rotation from each area of practice, if scheduling permits. The resident may select their remaining electives without restriction. Availability of rotations may vary from year to year based on preceptor availability. Residents are only expected to complete rotations at their home site however, residents may request to complete rotations at other sites. Preference for rotation selection is given to the site-specific residents.Core Rotations:
- Orientation (1 week)
- Drug information (3 weeks)
- Medication Management (3 weeks) plus 2 weeks in central IV admixtures (CIVA)
- Practice Management and Leadership (2 weeks)
- Research Project (6-8 weeks)
- Introduction to Pharmacy Care (2 weeks)
- Mandatory Patient Care Rotations (16 weeks), Internal Medicine, Cardiology ICU, Infectious Disease, Critical Care, (either Medical/Surgical ICU or Emergency Medicine)
- Teaching (4 weeks)
Elective rotations - Inpatient (3-4 weeks)
- Oncology
- Surgery
- Mental Health
- Palliative Care
- Pediatrics
- Community Hospital
- Family Medicine
Elective rotations - Ambulatory Care (4 weeks or longitudinal 3 weeks + 1 day every three weeks)
- Anticoagulation Clinic
- Nephrology (pre-dialysis, home dialysis, hemodialysis, transplant clinic)
- Community Health Centre (Collaborative Care)
- Heart Function Clinic
Minimum required credentials: To be considered for acceptance, you must either be a student enrolled in the final year of a Canadian entry to practice pharmacy degree program (e.g. BSc (Pharm), PharmD) or be a licensed and practicing pharmacist in direct patient care in Canada.
In addition to Canadian citizens, we will also consider landed immigrants who are currently practicing pharmacists in Canada and possess a strong motivation to attain a high level of competency in the practice of pharmacy.
