PRAMS: Additional requirements to complete the Pharmacy Residency Application and Matching Service (PRAMS) application should be sent through PRAMS when applying to Saskatchewan Health Authority, Saskatoon Integrated Service Area program by the application deadline: In 250 words or less, outlining your reasons for applying to the SHA, Saskatoon area residency program. Highlight what appeals to you about the program, how you will fit within the organization and some of your opportunities for growth by the Pharmacy Residency Application Matching Service (PRAMS) deadline. Eligibility for a Saskatchewan Health Authority – Saskatoon area residency position requires that candidates must hold a valid Practicing Pharmacist License from a Canadian Pharmacy Regulatory body at the time of application and be in possession of a Practicing Pharmacist License from the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals (SCPP) on the first day of the residency program or be in possession of a Conditional License from SCPP on the first day of the residency program as per SCPP bylaws.
Est. stipend: $40,000 per annum

Vacation/holiday leave: 3 weeks of vacation with two weeks scheduled in December    
Education/conference leave: Stipend provided to support attendance at a hospital pharmacy conference (e.g. PPC in Toronto, CSHP Western Branches Banff Conference).  Residents also attend the Manitoba Saskatchewan Management Seminar and the CSHP SK Branch AGM, when possible.

Program highlights: Competency based program which encourages residents to develop knowledge, skills and values required to excel as a practitioner. In striving towards provision of patient-focused care, emphasis is placed on identifying, solving, and preventing drug-therapy problems. Experiential learning environment using practitioner role models is the primary method of education. This philosophy promotes development of competent, progressive practitioners and nurtures future leaders. Twelve month program includes series of mandatory and elective rotations. Residents choose the adlt medicine or pediatric stream prior to entering the program. Original research project selected by resident must be completed. Supported by contemporary pharmacy services at 4 acute care hospitals, as well as ambulatory and home care settings.

Required Rotations:

Drug Distribution – 4 weeks Direct Patient Care Skills/Drug Information rotation – 4 weeks Adult medicine or Pediatrics: to complete three, 4 week rotations in their chosen stream over the course of the year (early, mid and capstone) and 4 week rotation in non-stream area APPE preceptorship - 4 weeks

Positive Living Program - 4 weeks
Primary Care – 4 weeks
Rx Files – 4 weeks
Transplantation – 4 weeks

Pediatric elective rotations:
Ambulatory Care - 4 weeks
NICU - 4weeks
Oncology - 4 weeks
PICU - 4 weeks

Minimum required credentials: Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy
