Program highlights: This post-graduate program offers organized training in various areas of hospital pharmacy. Areas of special interest include provision of pharmaceutical care in various patient-care settings, critical appraisal, administration, research and education. 

Required Rotations:

Medication Management Systems / Drug Distribution (5 weeks) Critical Appraisal / Health Research Methods (5 weeks) General Internal Medicine (4 weeks) Administration (2 weeks)


Minimum required credentials: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D. Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Intern is required.

Elective Rotations:  
Elective rotations are usually 3-4 weeks in duration, based on resident’s preference and number of electives chosen

Nephrology/Renal Transplant (inpatient and outpatient) Psychiatry Respirology Critical Care (Adult) Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship Ambulatory Care (eg SJHH Retail Pharmacy, Internal Medicine Rapid Assessment Clinic – IMRAC) General Surgery / Bariatric Surgery

  • Research Project (approximately 8-10 weeks scheduled throughout the year)
