We are pleased to announce that Allan Mills and Katie Palmer have been awarded the William McLean Innovation Grant to support the development of an educational resource aimed at advancing the skills of pharmacy technicians in hospital practice. This project will be carried out as part of their roles at Trillium Health Partners and reflects their continued dedication to enhancing pharmacy education and practice. 

Allan Mills, Pharm.D., MBA, FCSHP is the Director of Pharmacy at Trillium Health Partners and a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Healthcare-Systems Pharmacy. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto, an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, and a LEAN certification from the University of Michigan. Allan has held numerous leadership roles nationally and provincially and continues to contribute to the advancement of hospital pharmacy through education, research, and service. 

Katie Palmer, BSc, BScPhm, ACPR, CRE is a Resource Pharmacist – Education Portfolio and Lead Residency Coordinator at Trillium Health Partners. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Katie has held key academic and leadership positions and has been actively involved in developing educational programs that promote excellence in pharmacy practice. Her work has been recognized through several awards, including the THP Better Together Awards for Interprofessional Teaching. 

We look forward to the impact of their upcoming work on the pharmacy technician community and beyond.  

This grant has been made possible by a bequest to the CSHP Foundation from the Estate of Dr. William (Bill) McLean. Bill was a long-time CSHP Member and Fellow. He devoted a significant amount of time to the endeavors of the CSHP and was immensely proud of its role and accomplishments.
