What you need to know:
- Recruitment starts in May. When you join for the new membership year in May or June, your membership will start in the month that you join and will continue through June 30 of the following year.
- If you are a new member, a student, retired, on a leave of absence, or live with another pharmacist, you are eligible for a discounted membership fee.

Discounted Professional Development Opportunities: All Ontario Branch members receive a discount to attend the Annual Conference held in Toronto in November each year and the ever growing Ontario Hospital Pharmacy Management Seminar (OHPMS) in the Spring. These events offer workshop and presentations on timely topics as well as the opportunity to network with your peers. It is worth it to become a member and attend these events!
OB Awards Program: Ontario Branch Awards are presented at the Annual Banquet in conjunction with the Annual Conference in November. A variety of awards are available – nominate yourself or a colleague today!
RxFiles: Every year, the Ontario Branch makes a certain number of RxFiles subscriptions available to OB members on a first come first served basis. The RxfIles membership runs from July 1 to June 30 every year and members are notified by eblast. Be one of the first 150 to confirm your RxFiles request! Advocacy: CSHP OB is diligently working to make sure that the voice of hospital pharmacists is heard. Through relationships with The Ontario College of Pharmacists, The Ontario Pharmacists Association, The Ontario Hospital Association or directly through the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the Branch is working to review legislation, policy, and developments that will impact on hospital practice. Consultations are regularly circulated to OB members for input and feedback – have your say on issues that impact your day to day practice.
Pharmacy Specialty Networks (PSNs): PSNs are communities of CSHP members who share common professional practice interests. By design, they connect people and information from across Canada to promote practice excellence and the enhancement of patient-centred pharmacy practice. The creation of a PSN is member-driven, formed at the request of CSHP members and considered by the PSN Coordinating Committee. CSHP members and individual supporters may join as many PSN’s as they want.
Liability Insurance: Members and Supporters joining the exclusive CSHP liability insurance program benefit from competitively-priced premiums and customized coverage that is compliant with provincial requirements. Coverage is available for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students.
HPO: The CSHP OB Communications Committee publishes four annual editions of the HPO (Hospital Pharmacy in Ontario) Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring! Stay current about ongoing issues facing hospital pharmacy or submit your own content for consideration!
