Est. stipend: Approximately $32,000/year + benefits in lieu

Minimum required credentials: BScPhm or PharmD plus registered as a pharmacist in Ontario at the earliest opportunity upon admission to the program

Program highlights: The CAMH pharmacy residency program focuses on the provision of pharmaceutical care in an addictions and mental health setting.  Given the nature of the patient population, there is significant involvement in the management of common medical conditions, such as diabetes.  A rotation in general medicine is also offered at a local teaching hospital.  The residency provides multiple opportunities to develop presentation, project managment, teaching, research and leadership skills.  The resident will have the opportunity to participate in teaching activities on site and at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy.  

Core Rotations:
The resident is expected to complete the following mandatory rotations. The number of weeks allotted to the rotations is in parentheses.

  • Medication Use Systems (2 weeks) 
  • Drug Information (2 weeks) 
  • Medication Use Evaluation (2 weeks)
  • Practice Management and Leadership (3 weeks)
  • Residency Project (8 weeks) 
  • Schizophrenia and Psychotic Disorders (5 weeks)
  • Substance Use Disorders (5 weeks)
  • General Psychiatry (10 weeks)
  • General Internal Medicine at local teaching hospital (4 weeks)
  • Teaching (longitudinally) 

Elective Rotations:
The resident has a choice of one elective, which is 5 weeks in duration.
