Program highlights: General program that emphasizes the development and application of advanced practice skills in the provision of direct patient care.  The resident will have the opportunity to be an active participant in many of our multidisciplinary health teams and promote the integration of evidence into the decision making process for the patients they are responsible for.  Mandatory rotations include medicine, rehabilitation care (Bridgepoint campus), surgery, cardiology, infectious disease, neonatology, drug information, clinical teaching, administration and drug distribution. The last rotation of  the Residency  is a liaison rotation where the resident is the primary pharmacist for a service.  This serves to help bridge the resident into practice.

Required Rotations:

  • Distribution: 2 weeks
  • Administration: 1 week
  • Drug Information: 3-4 weeks
  • General Medicine: 4 weeks
  • General Surgery (IBD) + TPN: 4 weeks
  • Cardiology: 4 weeks
  • Rehabilitative Care: 2 weeks
  • Infectious Disease: 3 weeks
  • Perinatology: 4 weeks
  • Clinical Teaching: 3 weeks
  • Project: 6 weeks
  • Liaison: 4 weeks
  • Perinatology-NICU: 4 weeks


Elective Rotations:
Resident generally has a choice of 2 electives

  • Psychiatry: 3 weeks
  • Emergency Medicine: 3 weeks
  • Critical Care: 3 weeks
  • Oncology: 3 weeks
  • Geriatric Medicine: 3 weeks
  • Family Health Team: 3 weeks
  • Complex Rehabilitative Care: 3 weeks
  • Perinatology- High Risk Obstetrics: 2-3 weeks
