Program highlights: Residents complete various rotations in the 5 urban hospitals within the City of Calgary. This multi-site program creates the opportunity to learn from a number of practitioners in a variety of settings. Rotation schedules can be adjusted to accommodate preceptor availability and resident choices. Rotations outside of Calgary may be arranged to accommodate the resident's interests

  • Undergraduate Clinical Precepting (4 weeks)
  • Medicine (6 weeks)
  • Cardiology (4-5 weeks)
  • Infectious Disease (4-5 weeks)
  • Ambulatory Care (4-5 weeks) 
  • Critical Care (4-5 weeks)
  • Residency research project (9 weeks)
     

Elective Rotations: 

Chosen based on the interests of the resident and the availability of the rotations.  There is enough time allotted to allow for one to two elective rotations of 4-5 weeks in duration.  The rotations listed below are a summary of commonly available electives at the present time. There is a possibility that additional rotations may become available with addition of new practice areas.  Some of the electives listed below are also available as ambulatory rotations.

Minimum required credentials: Entry to practice Pharmacy Professional Degree (eg BSc, BSP, PharmD), and eligible for the Clinical register of the Alberta College of Pharmacists
