Education/conference leave: 5 daysProgram Highlights: The goal of the of the pharmacy residency program at the IWK is to prepare pharmacists to practice with a philosophy of patient and family centered care. This program will enhance the ability for pharmacists to be prepared to care for children, youth and families at completion of the program – with skills as a pharmacist that are transferrable to any health care setting.
Using the knowledge, skills, and attitudes developed in the course of the residency year, the resident will become a competent and progressive pharmacy practitioner. The resident will become a leader in pharmacy practice including, but not limited to, patient care, project management, administration, teaching and academia, and research and scholarship. The resident will complete a project focused on providing information to enhance the care and safety of our patients moving forward – not only in our hospital but for our patients all across the Maritimes.
Required Rotations: All rotations completed at the IWK unless otherwise noted.
